Managing several locations is not the same as multiplying the management of a single one by N. It means balancing group consistency (same sections, same layout, same editorial values) and local specificity (each address has its own cellar, its own clientele, its own sommelier). Winevizer offers a central console that lets both approaches coexist, without duplicating data entry or losing track of who did what.

Why a multi-location business is not managed like a single site

Three typical pitfalls when a group manages its wine lists without a dedicated tool:

  • Data entry repeated N times. A new reference in the central cellar means N entries to make, one per site, with as many opportunities for error (diverging vintage, wrongly copied price, truncated description).
  • No comparison between sites. You do not know whether the restaurant in Lille performs better on wine by the glass than the one in Lyon, or whether the wine shop in Bordeaux sells Languedoc wines better than the one in Nantes. Every management decision is made blind.
  • Poorly defined permissions. The local sommelier must be able to edit their cellar without access to the other sites, and the group manager must see everything without having to redo everything. Without a tool, you drift either toward everything permitted (and accidents) or toward everything centralized (and heaviness).

How Winevizer organizes multi-site management

Central console + one wine list per location

You access a console that lists all the group’s locations. Each location has its own independent wine list: its cellar, its prices, its rotation of wines by the glass, its virtual sommelier calibrated to its menu. You open any of them from the same console, without changing credentials.

Shared templates (sections, layout, branding)

You define the common framework at group level (wine list sections, presentation hierarchy, graphic identity, editorial tone), and you roll it out to all locations. Each local manager can specialize within the set framework, but cannot break the group identity. When you update the guidelines, you do it once and it is distributed.

Permissions per location

Three standard roles: group manager (overview, editing of all sites, template configuration), local manager (editing of a single site, view limited to that site’s statistics), read-only (for the accounting department or management). You assign roles to people, not the other way around.

Performance comparison between sites

On the group console, you see consolidated KPIs at a glance: average wine spend per site, usage rate of the virtual sommelier, most viewed references per site, contribution to overall wine revenue. You identify best practices (“the Lyon hotel converts 30 % more on wine by the glass: what are they doing differently?”) and you share them. See our wine sales analytics page for details on the indicators.

Use cases

Hotel chain (3 to 50 locations)

A hotel group with several hotel restaurants uses the group console to ensure a consistent guest experience from one location to the next (same guidelines, same UX, same criteria for highlighting wines). Each hotel keeps its cellar and its editorial choices. The central F&B director sees consolidated performance and identifies underperforming hotels in order to support them.

Restaurant group (2 to 20 addresses)

A restaurant group, whether a duplicated concept or different brands within the same group, uses the shared templates for visual consistency, but each restaurant keeps its sommelier, its suppliers and its wine list positioning. The group manager arbitrates centralized purchasing (wines shared between addresses for volume) while respecting local choices.

Multi-store wine shop

A wine shop with several stores pools a group catalog (shared listings and descriptions) but displays, per store, the stock actually available. The customer who scans knows the bottle is in their store, not in another one 200 km away.

Multi-site pricing

Beyond 2 locations, we offer suitable group pricing: the standard rate of €24.99 excl. VAT per month per location remains the basis, with decreasing rates for groups of 5 sites or more. Ask us for a quote that takes into account your scope, the number of users and any customizations (SSO integration, exports to your data warehouse, etc.).

Compared with competing solutions

On multi-location management, market approaches differ. COENA offers a multi-cellar mode with filters, particularly useful for very large hotel structures. Somm-It has a vertical dedicated to restaurant groups with a focus on consolidated profitability. Winevizer focuses on the simplicity of the central console and consistency through templates, more accessible for groups of 2 to 20 sites that do not want an overcomplicated system.
