Present Your Wine List on Tablet

We worked hard this summer to meet your requests to present your digital wine (and beverage) list to your customers on a tablet.

Winevizer, your digital wine list, is now available in the IOS and Android app stores. The application can now be installed on tablets such as iPad or iPad mini and various Android tablets. Your customers no longer need to scan a QRCode; you can directly give them the tablet to easily choose their wine.

Why a Wine List Application on Tablet?

Some of your customers may not be familiar with using a QRCode or a smartphone in general. A tablet is a simple and intuitive device for all your customers that can be presented instead of a paper menu. A complete beverage list can now be created with Winevizer, allowing you to present your wines, beers, as well as your spirits, digestifs, and other drinks on the same tablet.

The tablet does not need to be constantly connected to the internet to function, but a connection will be necessary to update your list in case of a selection update.

The tablet seems to be the right compromise between the paper menu and the QRCode to scan on a smartphone. The application is completely free; you just need to have a Winevizer account and one or more tablets available.

How to Install Winevizer on a Tablet?

To install your digital menu on a tablet, it's very simple:

• Activate an internet connection on the tablet (via wifi, for example)
• Go to the app store and search for “Winevizer”
• Install the Winevizer application and launch it
• Upon launching the application, search for and select your establishment from the list (you must have a Winevizer account and have created your establishment)
• Your digital menu will now launch by default when the application starts
• An internet connection is no longer necessary; you can turn it off
• If you update your wine list, you will need to reactivate the internet connection and open the application for it to reload
• Remember to activate kiosk mode to secure your tablet (see further in the article)

How to Prevent the Customer from Leaving the Wine List Application?

Tablets have a kiosk mode that allows you to lock the tablet to a specific application and prevent the use of other tablet features. This is very useful to avoid customers accidentally leaving the digital menu or trying to launch other applications on the tablet.

Some Disadvantages of the Wine List on Tablet in Restaurants

Even though the tablet brings many advantages, it is important to keep a few disadvantages in mind:

• A more or less significant purchase price
• A renewal of tablets to be planned in the budget
• The possibility of breakage or theft of the tablet (consider a protective case in case of a fall)
• The potential dispute with a customer in case of breakage
• The importance of keeping the tablet charged
• The possible transmission of bacteria between customers on the tablet
• The necessity to regularly clean the screen and fingerprints between customers
